February 20, 2006 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Business application provider WebEx Communications (webex.com) announced on Monday it has appointed Bert Van der Zwan as vice president of EMEA.

Van der Zwan has over 20 years of senior management experience in the European technology market, including eight years at data and voice network 3Com. As managing director of Mid and North Europe for 3Com, Van der Zwan was responsible for the division's direct and channel sales activities.
He also served as managing director of Action Engine, Microsoft and Intel's application platform provider for mobile devices. There he oversaw all aspects of the business in EMEA and helped build platform relationships with mobile operators, relevant channels and the region's large hardware vendors.
