'Zed' are a New Zealand pop/rock four-piece from Christchurch, New Zealand.
History
The band released their debut single Oh! Daisy followed by I'm Cold and Glorifilia. Their fourth single, Renegade Fighter gave them their first number one single in New Zealand. They then went on to release further singles Come On Down and Drivers Side all from their debut album Silencer.
Zed took a long break after the huge success of Silencer to work on some new material in California for their follow-up album, This Little Empire. The first single on This Little Empire was Starlight, a track penned by Rivers Cuomo of Weezer, and this track also featured on the soundtrack for the 2002 film, The Hot Chick, gaining the band initial exposure in the United States. They then returned to New Zealand to release This Little Empire and their second single from that album Hard To Find Her followed by a cover of The Beach Boys' classic Don't Worry Baby, She Glows and most recently Firefly.
Zed are currently working on their third album.
