Wapahani Honors Night

MUNCIE -- Wapahani High School will have its annual Honors Night at 7 p.m. tay 11 in the high school auditorium.

All parents, relatives and friends are welcome to attend to see students' achievements and scholarships recognized.

Jay teacher honored

PORTLAND -- Susan Williams, a special-education teacher at General Shanks Elementary School, was named Wal-Mart's Teacher of the Year on Monday.

Williams has taught special education for 29 years, 17 of them at General Shanks.

The school will receive $1,000, and Williams will receive a $100 gift card to purchase supplies for her classes.
