'The Veronicas', is a duo of twin sisters Lisa and Jessica Origliasso (born December 25, 1984 in Brisbane).
Born and raised in Brisbane, Australia, in the suburb of Albany Creek and attending , the girls got their first taste of the show business at an early age, performing small parts on various television shows, acting in local productions, and, later on, playing music as "Lisa and Jessica," and then as "The Teal."
The girls were picked up by Warner Bros. Records/Reprise Records's Sire Records label in 2004, for a reported sum of 2 million dollars. The girls write their own music, which is somewhat pop-rock, and have also written songs for other artists, including t.A.T.u.'s "All About Us," Casey Donovan's "What's Goin' On" and Kate DeAraugo's "Faded". They have also toured with American musicians Ryan Cabrera and The Click Five.
Their debut album, entitled The Secret Life Of..., was released in Australia on October 17, 2005 reaching number 7 in the charts, and it is to be released in the United States in early 2006. The first single, "4Ever", has received frequent radio play in Australia, and has already started to receive American radio play. It has reached the number 2 of the Australian ARIAnet Singles Chart. The Veronicas were nominated for the 'Best Breakthrough Single' award at the Australian ARIA awards in October 2005.
The single "4Ever" has two different music videos, an original version made by the Australian record label and a subsequent second video made by the American record label for American audiences. Both versions have had high airplay on Australian free-to-air music video shows Rage and Video Hits, as well as on the cable TV music channels.
Archie Comics sued the duo for trademark infringement over their moniker, but the two settled and have agreed on a cross-promotion deal. They were actually named after a quote in the movie Heathers.
Discography
The first single "4Ever" has been taken very well in Australia by spending its first 13 Weeks (over 3 months) in the Top 10, selling over 70,000 units and peaking at #2. The Second single "Everything I'm Not" peaked at #9. The album itself has reached the position of #7 on the ARIA Album Charts.

Rumours
It has been rumoured that Jess and Lisa are both tipped to star in the movie remake of the classic Archie cartoon, playing very approximately a girl called Veronica.
Both girls will share the role and will also sing and perform in the movie with the Archie Band.
It has also been rumoured that Lisa is having a relationship with Ryan Cabrera as they have both been seen together many times in public and Lisa appeared in one of Cabrera's videos where they kissed.
