Australian artists picked up seven out of 14 awards at the second annual MTV Australia Video Music Awards in Sydney on Wednesday night.
Shannon Noll was voted best male artist for the second consecutive year and Brisbane twins, The Veronicas, won the spankin' new aussie artist award.
The Veronicas also took home an MTV trophy, a silver surfing platypus, for video of the year for their song, 4Ever.
A host of big-name international acts attended the event at the Sydney SuperDome (SuperDome), including the Simpson sisters, Jessica and Ashlee, who hosted the awards ceremony.
Ashlee Simpson picked up best female artist and best pop video for her song, Boyfriend.
Also attending were rapper Snoop Dogg, singer James Blunt and Oscar-winning actor and part-time singer Russell Crowe.
Other Australians to win awards included former Australian Idol runner-up Anthony Callea for the viewers' choice award, Bernard Fanning for album of the year with Tea and Sympathy, and former Midnight Oil frontman Peter Garrett, with the free your mind award.
Melbourne-based dance outfit Rogue Traders picked up best dance video for Voodoo Child.
For best male artist, Shannon Noll was up against fellow Aussie Bernard Fanning, and international artists James Blunt, Kanye West and Robbie Williams.
US group Green Day was voted best group while Snoop Dogg picked up best hip hop video for Drop It Like It's Hot.
Chris Brown took home best R 'n' B video for Run It! and The Darkness secured the best rock video for One Way Ticket.
The awards acknowledge the best in Australian and international music in 14 viewer-voted categories. People voted by SMS, email, fax and telephone.
New Zealand hip hop outfit Scribe performed, as did The Veroncias, Lee Harding, James Blunt, Russell Crowe with his band The Ordinary Fear of God, The Darkness, End of Fashion and Rogue Traders.
