Glam look for The Veronicas

12mar06

BRISBANE music sensations The Veronicas have gone from rock chicks to glam chic.

Twins Jess and Lisa Origliasso swapped their grungy, dark tresses for sleek and stylish new 'dos for a hot Hollywood makeover.

"It was really cool to see that we could be transformed into that because we didn't think it was an easy thing to do," Jess said.

"They did a shorter-hair look which was cool because it was more sleek – it was awesome to see me with shorter hair."

While the 21-year-olds loved their new looks, the styles were only temporary as part of their latest role as ambassadors for Nu:U hair styling products.

The deal is just the beginning of what is proving to be a huge year for the twins, who have just released their debut album The Secret Life of the Veronicas in the US.

"We sold 15,000 in the first week and over here they consider anything over 5000 in the first week to be a success, so we're thrilled."

While they would love to achieve success in America, Jess said being recognised back home is what really counted.

"To even get the chance to release a record over here is huge, but it's more important for us to be the coolest at home."

"When they told us we were going on the Kerri-Anne Kennerley show and Rove Live we were so excited."

The Veronicas begin their first Australian tour next month and were thrilled that their Brisbane performance, at The Tivoli on April 21, sold out in hours.
