The Thugs Are Us rapper, whose real name is Maurice Young, was collared early Tuesday after a fistfight at a Florida strip club, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department confirmed to E! Online.
Officer Carlos Saura says the hip-hop star was dropping some Trick Daddy dollars at Tootsie's Cabaret in Miami Gardens, not far from the rough-and-tumble neighborhood where he grew up, when he reportedly got into an argument with staffers.
No word on what sparked the row, but according to Saura, when the dispute escalated, Tootsie's management called the cops. The rapper was taken into custody and cited for disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest without violence.
A rep for Trick Daddy's Atlantic Records-based label, Slip-N-Slide, was unavailable for comment.
Local news station WSVN-7 aired footage of a bruised and bloodied Trick Daddy, lying on a stretcher being wheeled by paramedics into Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor cuts to his face before being booked on the charges.
His mug shot shows the battered emcee with dried blood coating his nose and cheek.
He was released later Tuesday, after posting a $1,500 bond.
Per the police affidavit, officers responding to the call arrived to observe that the "defendant was using profanity and threatening club staff."
One of the officers also noticed that "Young had bloodshot eyes, a flushed face and the odor of alcohol along with slurred speech."
After Trick Daddy allegedly ignored orders for him to leave the club, the police forcibly subdued him.
"Asked to put his hands behind his back, he refused and started moving his arms around not to be handcuffed," the report stated.
Originally billed as Trick Daddy Dollars, the 33-year-old platinum-selling rapper is known for such top-10 gangsta-themed albums as Thugs Are Us, Thug Holiday and Thug Matrimony. He is said to be working on a new disc, Welcome to the Thug Country, but no release date has been announced.
