Tiga wants you to know one thing: He has no agenda.
There is absolutely nothing lurking beneath or within the music on his debut CD Sexor.
"It actually freaks me out sometimes because you know how people are -- most people try to find the agenda," says the Montreal DJ and producer. "And if there isn't one, they'll come up with one. So it's refreshing when someone sees it for what is."
And what Sexor is is a super cheeky, sexy and eclectic dancefloor disc, which has earned Tiga comparisons to Goldfrapp as well as raves.
For the artist, who spins all over the world and has remixed for acts such as Scissor Sisters (Jake Shears also appears on Sexor), the project was merely him wanting to step out and have fun.
"It's pretty amazing how people don't take 'just for fun' at face value," he says. "If you tell someone, 'Oh, I just did it for fun,' it kind of should end there ... but very, very few people are satisfied with that answer.
Unfortunately, Tiga's gig tonight at The Warehouse is only a DJ date -- although his mixing theory is much like his album theory -- but soon he hopes to take Sexor on the road.
"With where the music's going and with the singing and the songs and the image, it's definitely heading towards a live show," he says "It's not quite there yet, so for the time being I'm still touring as a DJ."
