Neil Young

Neil Young has set a date for the first release from his long-in-the-works archive series. Live From The Fillmore East 1970 will be a CD/DVD set and arrive on November 14. The performance was recorded on March 6 and 7 of 1970 with his long-time backing band Crazy Horse and Billboard reports that it will include photos from the concert and other bonus materials.

As previously reported, U2 and Green Day's live collaboration will debut on ESPN during the pre-game festivities before this Monday night's New Orleans Saints home opener. Since the bands recorded the benefit song "The Saints Are Coming" at Abbey Road Studios, they decided to do the same thing that most people do when they visit the historic landmark, and walk across the street. The members of U2 and Green Day posed for a picture at the famous crosswalk, with the members shaking hands in the middle. Pictures can be seen here on U2.com.

As Three Days Grace prepare to release "Pain" as the follow-up single to their massive hit "Animal I Have Become," the band has announced their first major headlining tour of their home country of Canada. The trek begins in Toronto on November 10 and wraps up in Victoria, BC on November 26.

As previously reported, 311 plan to take some time off now that the Omaha band has finished up their tour behind last year's Don't Tread On Me. The five members of 311 have consistently toured and recorded since 1998. Singer Nick Hexum tells Billboard, "I wouldn't feel satisfied if our next album can be so closely compared to our last one. I think it's time for a little bit of a break and a little time away from each other, not out of necessity but as a pre-emptive thing, before we get sick of it."

Cee-Lo Green of Gnarls Barkley will release a new compilation of his earlier work as a solo artist and with Goodie Mob. Closet Freak: The Best Of Cee-Lo The Soul Machine will land in stores on October 31, reports Billboard. The collection also includes the Outkast track "Git Up, Git Out," which featured Cee-Lo.

Before he opens up a series of dates for the Dixie Chicks, Pete Yorn will tour the southern part of the country. The trek begins on October 23 in Tucson, AZ and wraps in Tulsa, OK on November 11. Yorn's run with the Dixie Chicks starts on November 24 in Los Angeles.

Bad Company bassist Raymond "Boz" Burrell passed away yesterday in Spain. Burrell was one of the original members of the '70s Rock band.
