 Three Days Grace
| In the midst of touring with Nickelback and Staind, Three Days Grace is doing free concerts at a variety of rehab centers, treatment facilities, and detention centers this summer and fall in an effort to inspire people turn their lives around. Through live performances and Q&A sessions, frontman Adam Gontier is taking the audiences through his own journey as an addict who has gotten clean, turned his life around and found hope. The band will do more free performances and Q&As at the Cirque Lodge in Orem, UT on October 10 and the Excelsior Youth Center in Spokane, WA on October 18. Meanwhile, Three Days Grace wraps their tour with Staind on October 3 and will open two shows for the Rolling Stones in Regina, Canada on October 6 and 8.
A benefit CD of cover songs, dubbed Between The Covers, will feature tracks by Eric Clapton, Madonna, Alicia Keys, Sheryl Crow, Lenny Kravitz, Mick Jagger, David Bowie and more. The album will hit stores on September 12 and will benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation, which supports cancer, leukemia, and AIDS research. VH1, VH1 Classic and the Logo television network are also set to air a 30-minute special in conjunction with the album on the same day as its release, according to Access Hollywood. The special will be hosted by Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael, who also recorded their rendition of The Beatles' "If I Needed Someone" for the project.
As part of the next leg of their A Bigger Bang tour, the Rolling Stones will play at Churchill Downs in Louisville, the home of the Kentucky Derby, on September 29. The band has not played in Louisville since 1989. Seating will reportedly be in the grandstand, clubhouse and on the track. Opening acts for the next leg of the Stones' tour include Kanye West, Three Days Grace and Dave Matthews Band.
Cleveland-based band Mushroomhead will appear live on WMMS/Cleveland on Friday, August 11 at 6 p.m. to world premiere the first song from their forthcoming album, Savior Sorrow.
