Michael Jackson's first public performance in months did not live up to its supposed billing, according to reports. While it was promised that the King of Pop would sing "Thriller" at the World Music Awards in London, instead he merely sang the chorus to "We Are The World," backed by a children's choir. Reuters reports that Jackson noticeably struggled with the high notes and R&B singer Chris Brown sang "Thriller" in his place, complete with Jackson's classic red jacket.

Former Nirvana members Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl are in the news today for very different reasons. Novoselic, who has devoted his time in recent years to local politics in Washington state, will join influential Punk group Flipper to play bass on the band's first tour in over a decade. Meanwhile, Grohl appears with his old friends Tenacious D in their upcoming film, The Pick Of Destiny. Grohl plays the Devil in the D's flick, but tells VH1.com that he ordinarily hates when musicians act in movies. "I f---ing hate rock musicians in movies. I swear to God, I hate it, I get asked to do about two movies every year, and I never, ever say yes to any of them, because I can't stand it when I'm watching a movie and I see a rock musician step onscreen. It completely ruins the movie." He adds that, "This is the only thing I would seriously consider doing. ... When someone says, 'Hey, you want to f---in' be the devil in the Tenacious D movie?' That's OK for a rock musician to do."30 Seconds To Mars made history with the filming of their video for the new single "From Yesterday." The band made what is most likely the first American Rock video ever filmed entirely in China. Singer Jared Leto directed the clip, which debuts on MTV2 this Monday, November 20, according to Billboard.
Seven greats were inducted into the U.K. Music Hall of Fame this week. James Brown, Prince, Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin, Dusty Springfield, Brian Wilson and Rod Stewart all joined the Hall, with many artists performing as well. Wolfmother performed to pay tribute to Led Zeppelin. Sir George Martin was given an Honorary Music Award.
Taking Back Sunday will release Louder Now: Partone on December 12, a DVD featuring behind-the-scenes footage, live clips, the videos for "MakeDamnSure" and "Liar (It Takes One To Know One)" and more. The band has also designed a holiday card to raise money for cancer charities. The cards can be bought on their Web site, www.takingbacksunday.com.
