Strapping Young Lad sind mit den Aufnahmen gut vorangekommen und das obwohl ihr Frontmann Devin Townsend zur Zeit mit seiner Zweitband The Devin Townsend Band auf großer Tour mit Opeth ist. Mittlerweile hat man auch den Songtitel für das im Juli 2006 geplante Album bekanntgeben. Mit "The New Black" werden die Kanadier die Farbe ihres Genres sicher neu definieren.
