To celebrate this weekend's on-sale of tickets to the Family Values Tour, KoRn, Deftones and Stone Sour each made surprise appearances around the country. KoRn singer Jonathan Davis visited Mancow at WKQX (Q101)/Chicago, threw out the first pitch at the Cubs game at Wrigley Field, and then threw out thousands of free $10 bill to fans, since lawn tickets to the tour will only be $9.99. The Deftones and Stone Sour each performed free shows for fans in Sacramento and Kansas City.Green Day have posted a message on their Web site, giving fans an update on the band's current status. "It's been a while since we filled you all in to what's going on in Green Day world. We finished touring at the beginning of the year and have all taken some much needed vacation," the message says. "We have started to get together and work on a bunch of cool projects. It is a very creative time for us and we look forward to working on them for the next year or so."
Breaking Benjamin will release Phobia on August 8, the follow-up to their breakthrough album We Are Not Alone. The Pennsylvania-based group is plotting out a summer tour. The first single from Phobia, "Diary Of Jane," will impact radio the first week of June.
Guns N' Roses will play their first Los Angeles show in about 15 years when they rock out at KROQ/Los Angeles' Inland Invasion on September 23. The announcement was made this morning when Axl Rose called in for an interview with the Kevin & Bean morning show. The show will serve as a kick off for Guns N' Roses upcoming U.S. tour in support of Chinese Democracy, which is supposed to come out in the fall. "Axl Rose is a larger than life Rock superstar with a rare mystique and aura that commands attention," says Kevin Weatherly, SVP/Programming at CBS Radio and KROQ. "The anticipation for new Guns N' Roses music and the upcoming tour is insane. We are beyond thrilled to have them kick off their tour at this year’s KROQ Inland Invasion 2006.”
Staind is set to perform at the Indianapolis 500 next weekend as part of the festivities for the legendary race. The band will play two songs at the Sunday, May 28 race, the first of which will also be shown on ABC. Staind is out on tour right now, playing at a number of radio festivals and headlining the Jagermeister Music Tour.
Death Cab For Cutie have announced a handful of new tour dates for later this year. The band will play a series of overseas festivals and other shows in June and July before returning home in August to play Lollapalooza and more headlining dates. They are currently set to be on the road through August 15 in San Diego.

Yellowcard has announced the entire tour schedule for their summer trek, which will keep them in front of audiences until September 2. Their North American dates begin in Mountain View, CA on June 10, with Matchbook Romance, Rock Kills Kid and Hedley all on board as support on varying dates.The 2006 Rock The Bells festival in San Bernadino, CA will take place on August 5 and feature an all-star lineup of Hip-Hop greats. The Wu-Tang Clan will pay tribute to the late Ol' Dirty Bastard, whose last live show was the 2004 festival. Also slated to appear are Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Redman, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, De La Soul and many more, according to MTV.com.
