The cramped vans, the cheap motel rooms and the endless litany of fast food. Nobody said following your dreams would be easy, but Taco Bell wanted to help take some of the sting out of it for some deserving acts. 50 up-and-coming bands were chosen as part of their Feed The Beat program, each receiving $500 in free Fourthmeals, no strings attached.
The groups, all on tour or soon to be, applied by explaining why Taco Bell should partner with them for this promotion. The band Manchster Orchestra proved their worth by saying, "...we have spent more money collectively on Taco Bell than we have on guitar strings." With the money they're saving, might we suggest that the bands invest in air fresheners for their vans.
The chosen bands are:
Blitzen Trapper, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, White Rabbits, Girl Talk, Meg & Dia, Armor for Sleep, Palaris, Tokyo Rose, The Appreciation Post, Farewell Fligh, Socratic, Big D and the Kids Table, Panthers, After the Sirens, BlameShift, Enon, Lemuria, Rediscover, 1997, June, Scratch Track, We Are The Fury, The Graduate, Carawae, Holiday Parade, Strike Anywhere, Rookie of the Year, Dropout Year, A Day To Remember, Mayday Parade, Manchester Orchestra, GoodNight City, Five Star Iris, Old Union, Backseat Goodbye, Meriwether, The Hint, Far-Less, Hollywood Black, The Stiletto Formal, It’s Like Love, DeSole, The Secret Handshake, Highlines, Ozma, Letters Burning, The Fast Computers, Gliss, Music for Animals, National Product
