Smiths Reunion Still Remains Unseen
by Sam Barnes | 03.21.2006

Sorry folks, The Smiths will not be reuniting any time soon. In an interview at SXSW, Morrissey revealed that he and his former bandmates were offered $5 million for a reunion performance at this year’s Coachella festival. He said that he didn’t consider it because “money doesn’t come into it.” Regarding The Smiths, he said “It was a fantastic journey. And then it ended. I didn’t feel we should have ended. I wanted to continue. [Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr] wanted to end it. And that was that.”

So that’s that. Now go listen to The Queen is Dead with tissues in hand.
