Steriogram Information
Steriogram
'Steriogram' are a New Zealand punk/rock group. They released their first single, "Soccerstar" in 2001 and began to tour their home country. Another single released that year was "White Trash", also a New Zealand hit.
They toured in a van, just themselves without support crew. In April-May 2002, while unsigned, they did a tour around all New Zealand provences, called the Boost Mobiles Schools Tour in which they stopped off at the high schools holding workshops and holding free gigs at lunch time. They would also hold free gigs in bars at night time.
In 2002, while recording at a rented beach house they were spotted by an American Label Scout and were signed to Capitol Records later that year.
Their video for "White Trash" was seen by an American scout on the internet.

Their debut album, "Schmack!" has seen the release of four singles, "White Trash", "Walkie Talkie Man", "Roadtrip", and "Go".
Their big break came with "Walkie Talkie Man" which was used for the iPod adverts and its video (in which characters and objects were created by knitting puppets and animating them using stopmation) which was nominated for four MTV music awards. It also debuted at #19 on the UK Singles Chart.
They did a tour of New Zealand in May 2005, with support from 48may and Goodnight Nurse. Unfortunately their live set was not the fullest, and often they had to repeat songs.
