Cult indie rocker STEPHEN MALKMUS has called off his spring tour because he can't find a drummer.

The former PAVEMENT frontman was forced to look for a new drummer when longtime collaborator JOHN MOEN signed up as a full-time member of alternative rockers THE DECEMBERISTS - but his search has proved fruitless.

In a posting on his website, disappointed Malkmus writes, "I can't find the right drummer... I'll let you know when more gigs... are cooking."
