Hip-Hop Rumors: Slim Thug, Solange, Beenie Man, Dr. Dre, Rae and More!

EMERGENCY RUMOR CONTROL – URKEL DEAD?

Emergency, emergency! Did Jaleel “Steve Urkel” White kill himself? There was a very well written news story sent to me that stated that the star of “Family Matters” had died in an apparent suicide. Now this story was attributed to the Associated Press, a very credible source of information (unless you are a Katrina victim) and it seems official. Then there is the supposed suicide note. According to the report, he left a note that said, “Did I do that?” and then put a bullet in his brain. Weird, right?

This is most likely a hoax! Nothing comes up in the search engine and his website makes no mention of his death on Monday, So I think everybody can hope for the best and expect that this will be ruled a bad joke. Perhaps it will reinvigorate Jaleel’s career a bit. Never know…it didn’t work for singer Christopher Williams.

SLIM THUG IS SINGLE AND HIV-FREE!

I am not trivializing the HIV/AIDS thing so please don’t take it that way. You have to respect yourself, protect yourself and see the big masterful plan of genocide. I have to admit, I got some interesting responses to the rumor. Most were not funny. There was one that made me say, “OH S**T” out loud at 4:00 am! Slim Thug hits me up and lets me know that he can be ruled out 100% - period! To make his point clear, he sent me a copy of his recent AIDS test results. I am NOT kidding. He offered a phone number to call and a copy of the test down to the crazy specifics. He said, however people want to prove it, he's not the one. OH, did I mention that he said that he is single and wants all the ladies to know that they have no need to look at him crazy on that note. Its funny, somebody just tried to tell me that Slim Thug and Letoya Luckett (former singer in Destiny's Child) were recently engaged. “If you see a pimp shinin,’ tell ‘em how you feel!”

SOLANGE HAS ANOTHER BUN IN THE OVEN?

More H-Town chit-chatter. Rumors are swirling about Solange Knowles, Beyonce's sister, being pregnant again. Yup, people are talking about this! Now, I certainly cannot confirm this, as the family is very tight-lipped about it. Frankly, I think they should just come out with it, if she is! The young lady is a happily married woman and there is nothing wrong with being pregnant like that! But, they might not want us all in the biz and that is quite understandable! Time reveals all!

BEENIE MAN IN THE HOSPITAL?

Yesterday, Virgin Records & Akademiks Clothing were to have a party to celebrate the album release of Beenie Man. Well, I heard they tried to have it, but Beenie Man had to be rushed to the hospital! Why? Nobody knows for certain, but speculators have suggested that the constant touring and promoting took its toll on him. Lets hope he is getting better, if this is factual!

RAEKWON/DR. DRE UPDATE

This is the official word about Raekwon and Dr. Dre. They are in talks to make something happen, but no paperwork has been signed – that’s the official word. The unofficial word (from some Wu affiliates) is that Rae is officially down with Aftermath and they are plotting how to make his comeback pop off properly. I just can’t fathom how lovely this is. A decade ago, we were in a BS East/West beef and now everybody is making music together! Busta, I’m hearing beautiful things! Seriously, Dr. Dre is that DUDE – best Hip-Hop producer ever, but Marley Marl could give me a serious argument.

REAL TALK!

This one hurts. I am going to keep it real. An NYPD insider hit me up and gave me some sad information, which we will regard as flat-out rumors. The police-person said that they had a call about a delusional man in a NYC park. Word has is that man was none other than G-Dep, a rapper that was once down with Bad Boy. The word is, this man might have been on something that had him inebriated or high. The man did not know where he was or where he was going and he was basically out of it. He was arrested for something and thrown in a cell. Kind of sad, if it’s true. Kind of sad, if its false.

THE REMY GOES OFF OFF OFF!

I wasn’t kidding when I said I was scared of Remy Ma and here is more rumor fuel to the fear. I heard that she took a visit up to the Universal offices and went on a straight rampage, Like E, PMD and LL Cool J in the 90’s! If you know Rem, you know she will dumb out at anytime, but there is no motive for this one. I heard she was tearing down posters saying, "F**k Chamillionaire, f**k india.arie" and anybody else that’s out right now on the monolithic label. Now, this is coming from inside the walls of the label, but I cannot say it’s 100% accurate. In Rem’s defense, I would like to say that it probably wasn’t anything personal to the artists so there is no beef, but somebody needs to give her a new situation – if this is true! But, based on the airplane stuff and now these…?

MOBB DEEP/ GAME – THE OTHER SIDE

Even though I head that nothing happened with Mobb Deep and The Game, I heard the NYC crew was truly mob deep in Cali. Apparently, they linked up with 40 Glocc, an affiliated rapper from LA. He was reportedly with 30 people and Mobb was with a rather large crew as well. Somebody told me that The Game just happened to be in the area and wasn’t actually looking for his G-Unit adversaries. And, Suge being there was also a coincidence too, huh? I give up trying to figure this stuff out, but I admit this is a pretty weird story. Why did somebody tell me Sam Cassell, the basketball player, called the cops…son a shook one? Next time, run!

A POINT OF CLARIFICATION

Gilbert Arenas denied what the police said he said upon his Memorial Day weekend arrest. They say he said, “You can't arrest me. I'm a basketball player. I play for the Washington Wizards and I'm not going to leave my teammate." Well, I believe him! Who would be that corny to say it like that?

Now, I definitely agree with how Gilbert handled his business in staying with his teammate Awvee Storey. I even have dudes I know that stayed with him when Gil was in a Miami jail. Speak to ‘em Jay from the BX: “I saw NBA all-star Gilbert Arenas coming into the county jail also. He told me the cops were arresting a buddy of his. He said was treated well by the correction officers and got out of the jail pretty fast, but he was shipped in the prison van like a can of sardines like rest of us common folk and put in a cell too.”

Daddy-O of Stetsasonic fame, hit somebody up to hit me to tell you that Kedar Music has not signed a deal with Koch, but they are releasing one of their artists through the major indie. Plug alert: The artist’s name is Samson Logan.

So many people want me to tell other people about Loose Change. Well here it is and it has absolutely nothing to do with 50 Cent, but everything to do with 9/11. Prepare to open up, closed minds!
