Former Destiny's Child Member, LeToya, Works With Bun B, Paul Wall, Slim Thug and More on New Solo LP

April 13, 2006

LeToya, a former member of the original Destiny’s Child, wants to show the world that she is a "Survivor" in the music industry.

LeToya, who co-wrote D.C.'s smash singles “Bills Bills Bills” and “Say My Name,” has recruited Scott Storch and the Houston contingent of Bun B, Slim Thug, Mike Jones and Paul Wall, for her self-titled solo debut album, due in stores July 18.

“It’s the world’s first time hearing me and getting to know me as a solo artist,” says LeToya. “So what better way to get them to know me than call it LeToya?”

“Torn,” LeToya’s lead single, has the Houston songbird detailing the struggles of a strained relationship, while “I’m Good” has her brushing off a dude that did her wrong over a Storch production.

LeToya also salutes her city with the help of Mike Jones and Killa Kyleon on the screwed-R&B sounds of “Gangster Grill.” “Tear Da Club Up” pairs LeToya with UGK legend Bun B and “All Eyes On Me” features Paul Wall and Slim Thug.

In addition, LeToya runs Lady Elle, a successful clothing and accessory store in Houston.
