Get 'Stoopid' at the Palace April 23

Slightly Stoopid, a San Diego-based band, will be the headline performers in a concert on April 23 at the Palace Hotel Guam in Tamuning, according to a news release from Denight Marketing Group. Fusing acoustic rock and blues with reggae, hip-hop and punk, the band is known for its hits "Wiseman," "Fireshot," and "Collie Man." Doors open at 3 p.m.; show starts at 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, and $15 at the door.

Manila conductor will lead 'Les Miz'

St. John's School will present its high school production of "Les Miserables" on Nov. 10 and 12. Local musicians are needed for an orchestra, with auditions to be held this month for reed instruments, trombone, trumpets, keyboards, bass, horns, guitar, drums, percussion, violins, viola and cello, according to a release from the school. Josefino "Chino" Toledo, conductor of the Metro Manila Community Orchestra in the Philippines, is the guest conductor. 'Jesus Christ Superstar' songs

A fundraising concert featuring songs from the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" will be held at 7 p.m. April 21 and 22 at the Palace Hotel Ballroom in Tamuning. Proceeds will benefit the Edward M. Calvo Cancer Foundation. Tickets are $25 and available at the KUAM office on Harmon Loop Road in Dededo, and Bestseller Bookstores at the Micronesia Mall, Agana Shopping Center, and Guam Premier Outlets in Tamuning.
