 Billy Talent |
The Vans Warped Tour hits Park Place in Barrie, Ontario on Saturday, with the gates opening at 11 a.m. and the music beginning an hour later.
More than 45 bands will perform on five stages, with some of the more notable acts being Billy Talent, NOFX, Rise Against, Motion City Soundtrack, Anti-Flag, Thursday, Helmet, Saves The Day, Senses Fail, The Sounds, HelloGoodbye, Against Me!, 18 Visions, The Casualties, Joan Jett And The Blackhearts, Bullet For My Valentine, Academy Is…, Bouncing Souls, From First To Last, Every Time I Die, Gogol Bordello, Armor For Sleep, 30 Seconds To Mars and Silverstein.
House Of Blues Concerts Canada has released this list of items that won't be allowed into Park Place: umbrellas, blankets, lawn chairs, professional cameras, video or recording devices, alcohol, cans, bottles and coolers. Each attendee will be permitted to bring in a single sealed bottle of water, and ATM machines will be on site if you find yourself short of cash since you'll most likely need more than a bottle of water after spending an entire day baking in the August sun. There will be no re-entry allowed if you leave the park.
Bus transportation to Park Place will be available for those of you not allowed to take the family car. Greyhound Transit will operate a bus service from Toronto's Yorkdale subway station to the Barrie Molson Centre, which is located across from the park. Return tickets must be purchased at the Yorkdale station on Saturday, and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are $16 one way and $26 return. Departures start at 9 a.m., and the last bus will leave at 4:30 p.m. The return service will operate from the Barrie Molson Centre beginning at 10:30 p.m.
Overnight parking for concert ticket holders opens at 8 p.m. on Friday night. The charge is $25 per car, and campers and trailers are allowed. No alcohol, tents or fires will be permitted.
Tickets for the punk fest are still available at all Ticketmaster outlets or online at www.ticketmaster.ca.
