Olympique Lyonnais have allowed defender Lamine Diatta to join AS Saint-Etienne on a free transfer, with any sell-on fee to be shared between the two French clubs.

Two championships
The 31-year-old Senegalese international has signed a two-year contract with St-Etienne, having wanted to leave Stade Gerland due to a lack of regular football. Diatta, who joined Lyon from Stade Rennais FC in 2004, made 32 Ligue 1 appearances in two title-winning seasons with the French champions. He is the second player to quit the club this summer after fellow defender departed for AS Monaco FC in a swap deal involving Sébastien Squillaci.
