Rock N Roll Soldiers Information
Rock N Roll Soldiers
'Rock 'n' Roll Soldiers' is a rock music band from Eugene, Oregon. Its members are Marty Larson-Xu (vocals, guitar), Kevin Sciou (lead guitar), Oliver Brown (drums), and Evan Seroffsky (bass guitar). Their sound has been described by MTV News reporter James Montgomery as "skuzzy, sleazy punk tailored for drinking, fighting and tattooing." Larson-Xu himself describes it as high energy old-school rock and roll with a "greater modern sensibility" (Rocket Net Webzine).
History
Rock 'n' Roll Soldiers came together when Marty, Oliver, and Evan began making music in middle school. They were just learning to play their instruments when they formed the band and named it after a Radio Birdman tour. French guitarist Kevin Sciou joined the Rock 'n' Roll Soldiers later, after the others had graduated high school and begun touring the western United States.
The band's first two EPs were picked up by Gearhead Records and released only on vinyl until Warner Music Group's subsidiary East West released them as a compilation CD called "The Two EPs". This CD served as their unofficial debut and a tantalization for fans who currently await the January 2006 release of the tentatively titled album Too Many Musicians to Kill.
