Euro extends gains vs. ruble
RBC, 07.08.2006, Moscow 12:12:59.The weighted average euro exchange rate closed at 34.37 RUR/EUR at this special trading session for today deals, RUR0.12 above the official euro exchange rate set by the Bank of Russia for August 7. The euro has therefore extended its rise against the ruble for a second straight day. Meanwhile, the high on deals reached 34.39 RUR/EUR. The euro's resumed climb on MICEX has been fueled by the dollar's continued drop on international exchanges. The euro is now buying USD1.2865, whereas it traded at under USD1.28 at midday on the previous working day. Consequently, the euro has gained close to 0.6 percent against the dollar on the global market since then.
