CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 20, 2006--Navigant Consulting, Inc. (NYSE:NCI - News), an independent, specialized consulting firm providing the industry expertise and solutions clients need to address dispute, investigative, business, operational and financial challenges, today announced the hiring of Richard X. Fischer as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Mr. Fischer succeeds Philip P. Steptoe.

Mr. Fischer will have responsibility for managing the Company's legal, compliance and business risk matters. He will also join the Company's Practice Standards and Compliance Committee. Prior to joining Navigant Consulting, he was Vice President and Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer for Sears Holdings Corporation. He has also worked for prominent national law firms, including Sidley Austin and Foley & Lardner.
