MUSIC BITS: Snoop banned from UK; Source lays off employees; Kanye on Clinton Sparks’ radio show; Lupe, Rhymefest join Kane in Brooklyn.

*Snoop Dogg has reportedly been banned for life from the entire United Kingdom following his brawl in London’s Heathrow Airport. According to British tabloids, officials in the nation announced that he was no longer welcome there because of his previous criminal record in the United States. Some offenders are allowed to enter the region under special circumstances, but sources said Snoop doesn’t fall in that category. As previously reported, the rapper has also been banned from British Airways following the incident, which occurred in the airline’s First Class Lounge inside of the airport.

*SOHH.com is reporting that The Source has laid off 14 employees due to budget cuts. As previously reported, Source founder and former CEO David Mays and partner Raymond “Benzino” Scott lost control of the magazine in January after defaulting on an $18 million loan from Textron Financial. Black Enterprise/Greenwich Street Partners took over the publication and installed Jeremy Miller as its new president. In a statement, Miller said: "The cuts were made to improve the efficiency of our operations, and the quality of the magazine will in no way suffer."

*Kanye West will be featured on Clinton Sparks’ top-rated, syndicated radio show, SmashtimeRadio, during the Memorial Day weekend. A free download of the program will be offered to “any and every station” to celebrate his worldwide syndication deal with Superadio. Also launching Memorial Day weekend is the Clinton Sparks & Busta Rhymes New Crack City street album, featuring 24 new and exclusive Busta Rhyme tracks produced by Clinton Sparks.

*Lupe Fiasco, Rhymefest and the Procussions have joined Big Daddy Kane in the lineup for the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, set for June 24 in Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park between the New York's Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridge. Updates and tickets to the free event are available at BrooklynBodega.com.
