HIM has decided to cancel its planned fall tour of the U.S. in favor of entering the recording studio. The band has been steadily writing material for their next album and are eager to start rehearsing the new tunes. Frontman Ville Valo said in a statement, "Our dearest fellowship of the Heartagram, you haven't seen the last of us yet. We just want to keep it fresh for you and stump you with new material. I didn't feel that I could do that without rehearsing some of this stuff that's stuck in my heart. We're happy to have new fans come aboard the ship, but I feel we've got to keep it exciting and new. We've started writing and I can't wait for you guys to hear what we're working on." The canceled shows ran from October 18 in Lowell, MA to October 31 in Universal City, CA.

Joseph "Run" Simmons and his wife Justine, whom fans have gotten to know via their MTV reality show Run's House, reportedly lost their newborn child shortly after its birth last week. AllHipHop.com reports that Run was present at a Ridgewood, NJ hospital on September 19 for the child's anticipated delivery, but the baby girl was born with organs outside of its body and died shortly after being delivered. The pregnancy was initially made public via the TV show, and AllHipHop.com says that the MTV cameras were filming at the hospital.
Michael Jackson has reportedly decided to split from the Two Seas record label that he co-founded last April. E! Online says that Jackson's spokeswoman Raymone Bain confirmed that he is no longer affiliated with the label that he co-founded with Bahrain royal family member Abdulla Hamad Al-Khalifa. The word was that the new label would release Jackson's next album in 2007, but E! notes that Jacko has already formed the Michael Jackson Company to oversee his financial affairs, and that company may branch off to become a record label as well. It is also unclear how the move will affect Jackson's Hurricane Katrina benefit single, "From the Bottom of My Heart," which was supposed to come out eons ago.
Mushroomhead unleashed their latest album, Savior Sorrow, last week, and the first 50,000 copies are available with limited edition "3-D" artwork. Meanwhile, the band has plotted out a month of tour dates in support of the new CD. The trek kicks off in Mokena, IL tonight (9/27) and runs through October 30 in Grand Rapids, MI.
A former assistant of Rapper Foxy Brown has dropped the harassment complaints that she filed against her. Brown had been facing two criminal complaints from Rasheeda Ellis, who said the Rapper withheld a week's pay from her and then made harassing phone calls and visited her workplace, threatening to do her "physical harm," according to the Jersey Journal. Both sides agreed not to speak to the media about the settlement and not to have any contact. Brown also agreed to return some personal items belonging to Ellis, according to the Journal.
The Damon Dash Music Group will release Ol' Dirty Bastard's final studio album, A Son Unique, on November 7. The release commemorates the second anniversary of ODB's death, and it features guests such as Macy Gray, Missy Elliott, RZA, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Method Man, N.O.R.E., Pharrell and more.
The ladies of the late, great band Luscious Jackson have reunited, but not for a traditional LJ album. In fact, they have recorded a collection of kids music. "We've made a lot of music so far, but it's fun because adults will be able to enjoy this too," singer Jill Cunniff told MTV.com. "It's like Luscious Jackson with a kids' angle. It's not goofy kids' music — it's dance-y and has Luscious Jackson beats, but the [lyrical] content is pretty silly." The girls are currently searching for a record label to put out the project. Cunniff also said the band will be performing in the near future, doing "family concerts where parents can come with their kids."
On November 14, Geffen will release a four-disc Sublime box set, Rarities, which includes a DVD of live performances and music videos. Billboard.com says the music in the collection will include live songs, demos and acoustic tracks.
