In 1998, Korn hooked up with Incubus, Ice Cube, Limp Bizkit, Orgy and Rammstein for the first Family Values Tour. The heavy metal fest, comparable in size to Ozzfest or the newer Sounds of the Underground, was a fairly successful nu-metal and rap staple until 2001.

It's been five years since the Family Values Tour trampled its way through America's arenas, but now the tour is making its return in a big way.

Korn once again picks up headlining duties with a monster lineup that includes Sacramento metal kings Deftones, Stone Sour, Flyleaf and Dir en Grey, Bury Your Dead and Orange County's own Bullets and Octane.

The Family Values Tour will stop at Hyundai Pavilion at Glen Helen on Aug. 19. Tickets for the lawn are only $9.99 and seats top out at $59.50. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Country stars Brooks & Dunn, the best-selling country duo in history, will play the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal Citywalk. The two, who have been making music together for more than a decade, will bring another country act, Sugarland, along for the two day stint on Oct. 9 & 10. Tickets are $39.50-$49.50 and go on sale 1 p.m. Saturday.

Peter Frampton will play a show at the Wiltern LG. The guitarist, most famous for his live album "Frampton Comes Alive!," will rock the venue Sept. 30.The performance come at a busy time for Frampton, who is gearing up to release an all-instrumental album called "Fingerprint" on Sept. 12. Guitarist Johnny A. has been tapped to open. Tickets are $38.50-$68.50 and go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday.

Two iconic entertainers will play The Greek Theatre in the upcoming months. Hot 92 Jamz presents an Evening with Smokey Robinson on Aug. 26. Tickets are $25-$80. Blues and rock singer-guitarist Bonnie Raitt stops at the venue Sept. 9 with Keb' Mo' to serve opening duties. Tickets are $30-$85. Another blues band, George Thorogood & The Destroyers will be at The Greek with The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Dr. John and Buddy Guy on Sept. 22. Tickets are $29.50-$74.50.All three shows go on sale at 10 a.m. Sunday.

In festival news, Transparent Productions will bring the Uprising Festival to Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on Sept. 16. The festival will feature punk, pop-punk and indie standouts Relient K, Mae and Copeland plus Waking Ashland, Sherwood, Cool Hand Luke, Brandtson, Starflyer 59, House of Heroes, Vedera and One Republic. More bands will be announced soon. Tickets prices are TBA and will go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday.

Keep your eyes open: Aerosmith and Mφtley Crόe will embark on a tour together in the late summer months. The show will stop at the Hollywood Bowl on Nov. 7 and at the Hyundai Pavilion at Glen Helen Nov. 11.

All the original members of Jodeci will make a return to the stage on Aug. 24 at the House of Blues in Anaheim with R&B vocalist Javier in tow. Tickets are $63-$65. Influential rap legend Rakim will bring the noise to the venue on Sept. 7. Tickets to see the revolutionary lyricist are $25-$30. Rakim will also play at the House of Blues on Sunset Strip Sept. 8. Tickets are $25-$27.50 and are on sale now.

Also at the Anaheim House of Blues: The Fray with O.C.'s own Augustana, Aug. 16, $18-$20; Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks, Michelle Shocked, Mary Lee's Corvette, Sept. 6, $25-$27.50; Sugarcult, the Spill Canvas, Halifax, Maxeen, So They Say, Sept. 9, $18. All shows go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday.

Dwight Yoakam will play The Grove of Anaheim Sept. 7. Tickets to the performance are $40-$55 and go on sale at noon Saturday.

After having to postpone a performance earlier this year due to vocalist Ryan Key's throat problems, Yellowcard has rescheduled the show for Aug. 3 at the Wiltern LG. Tickets to see the pop-punkers are $25 and go on sale at noon Saturday.

Gary Lightbody, lead singer for Snow Patrol, faced a similar problem when doctors recently told him to rest his vocal chords. Because of this, the band's two days at the Wiltern LG (originally June 19 and 20) have now been rescheduled for Sept. 26 and27.

Cancellations: Dokken has been tapped to replace Thin Lizzy to open for the Scorpions June 30 at the Pacific Amphitheatre.

The Havana Night Tour scheduled for Nov. 19 at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal Citywalk has been cancelled. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.

European buzz band Hard-Fi has been forced to pull out, once again, from a scheduled L.A. area performance. The July 17 show at the Avalon has been nixed due to the band's difficulty in obtaining work visas.

Ladytronwill play the John Anson Ford Theatre Oct. 17. Tickets, $25.50, are on sale now.

Down south: Two new acts have been added to San Diego's Street Scene. Wolfmother takes the stage Aug. 4, while the Shins perform Aug. 5.
