Legendary Hip-Hop wordsmith Rakim said that his third solo album The Seventh Seal would hit stores before the end of the summer during Mark Ecko's Save the Rhino's concert recently held in New York. The album will be released on his own label, after a much hyped collaboration with Hip-Hop super-producer Dr. Dre never saw the light of day. According to Rakim the album will feature several guest appearances, including a cameo appearance by Queens rapper Nas.

New York will get a dose of French Hip-Hop tonight when The Saian Supa Crew takes to the stage for a two-hour set tonight (June 13) at S.O.B.'s in New York. The group has sold over 400,000 albums worldwide and their latest single "Hold Up" is garnering praise on both sides of the Atlantic. Opening for The Saian Supa Crew is Aloe Blacc. The Saian Supa Crew has worked with such notables as will.I.am, Brand Nubian, The Arsonists, Roots Manuva, Brand Nubian and others. The show kicks off at 10:00 pm EST. Kanye West and Tool have been tapped to headline the 22nd Street Scene festival, which takes place outside the Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. The festival takes place August 4-5. Lupe Fiasco, Bad Religion, She Wants Revenge, Sean Paul, G. Love & Special Sauce, Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Social Distortion and others will also perform during the two day-event. Passes can be purchased for both days for $115, while single dates go for $75.

The Roots have announced their Def Jam debut Game Theory will hit stores August 29. The album features 14 tracks that drummer ?uestlove described as "very mature, serious and very dark." “There was too much going on that we couldn’t just sit back and not speak on it,” added Roots lyricist Black Thought. The album also pays homage to the late J-Dilla, who recently passed away from complications from the disease lupus in Feb. 2006.
