Nodes Of Ranvier Information
Nodes Of Ranvier
Nodes of Ranvier formed in the fall of 2000. The band started as an outlet for fun and expression by its members. The band makes music with the intention of enjoying what they create and hoping that others will enjoy it as well. Nodes has gone through several lineup changes in its existence with the newest line up being: Jon (guitar), Ryan (percussion), Nick (vocals), Terry (bass), and Jake (guitar). Past members have included: Tyler Maine, Jeremy Schwartz, Zach Poppinga, Nick Thomas, Thomas Hentges and Jon Schuld.
In the Spring of 2002, Nodes of Ranvier released a split CD with the Iowa based band, Innocence Broken, on winterinjuly records. The following summer they released a full length album on facedown records, "lost senses, more innocence". July 2003 brought a new album from Nodes of Ranvier thatthey feel best represents what this band is all about in all aspects... musically, emotionally, spiritually, and visually. Due to the bands confidence in all aspects of the album they have simply named it "Nodes of Ranvier". In Arpil 2005 Nodes again claimed there territory with "The Years to Come".
(2005) In a genre full of bands that can all seemingly follow the same standard song writing formulas, Nodes of Ranvier have risen up creating their own niche in the metal/hardcore scene. Unique and original song arrangements that vary from breakdowns of epic proportions overlaid with harsh, deep vocals to hand clapping choruses with catchy melodies have caused the press to praise their self-titled album (2003) saying it was "one of the top ten albums of the year, if not of all time." Nodes of Ranvier come from a place with a struggling local scene which has only heightened their own creativity and caused them to hit the road and work hard for every ounce of their success. Their new album, The Years to Come, promises to deliver one of the best albums that will come out this year.
Nodes of Ranvier have also toured the U.S. numerous times and continue to tour at least 4-6 months a year. Nodes has had the privalege to have shared the stage with: Bleeding Through, Extol, Living Sacrifice, Zao, Misery Signals, Bury Your Dead, Every Time I Die, Norma Jean, Evergreen Terrace, mewithoutYou, Glass Casket, and many others.
