Nickelback lead singer Chad Kroeger was charged Wednesday with impaired driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level over .08.

The 31-year-old rocker, whose real name is Chad Robert Turton, was pulled over by police in Surrey, B.C. at about 2:00 am on June 22 for allegedly speeding and driving erratically.

Kroeger’s first court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 25. He will be on the road with Nickelback in August.

Although originally from Alberta, Kroeger now lives in Abbotsford, B.C..
