Michael Cerveris and his band will perform in downtown New York City with his current Broadway Sweeney Todd castmates and special guests Nellie McKay (late of The Threepenny Opera) and Spring Awakening composer Duncan Sheik.

Doors open at 8 PM for the "Fleet Street on the Bowery" evening at the Bowery Ballroom Aug. 21. The one-night-only performance will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Sweeney Todd stars Manoel Felciano, Lauren Molina, Ben Magnuson, Donna Lynne Champlin and other members of the company will make appearances. The songlist will include songs from Cerveris' first album, "Dog Eared," as well as new songs from his forthcoming release "The Hinterlands EPs" (again on Low Heat Records) due out in the fall. The rest of the cast, McKay and Sheik will be performing a mixture of their own songs and covers.

Cerveris, previously seen Off-Broadway in Wintertime and Fifth of July, earned a Tony Award nomination for his Broadway debut as the title role in The Who's Tommy. He won a Tony for his role in Assassins. He has also appeared in Titanic on Broadway as well as the title role in Off-Broadway's Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

For more information on Cerveris the actor or the band, visit www.michaelcerveris.com or www.cerveris.com, respectively.

Tickets to "Fleet Street on the Bowery" at the Bowery Ballroom, 6 Delancey Street (near Bowery) are available by calling (866) 468-7619.
