NEW YORK (Billboard) - Neil Young will launch an eight-week North American tour in Boise, Idaho, on October 18, two days after the release of his album, "Chrome Dreams II."

His wife Pegi, who recently released her first solo album, will serve as the tour's opening act.

"Chrome Dreams II" boasts two epic tracks (the 18-minute-plus "Ordinary People" and the 11-and-a-half-minute "No Hidden Path") as well as the song "Boxcar," which has been around in various forms for more than two decades.

Here are the tour dates:

October 18: Boise, Idaho (Morrison Center)

October 20: Spokane, Wash. (Opera House)

October 22: Portland, Ore. (Keller Theatre)

October 23: Seattle (WaMu Center)

October 27-28: Mountain View, Calif. (Shoreline Amphitheatre / Bridge School Benefit)

October 30: Los Angeles (Nokia Live)

November 5: Denver (Wells Fargo Theatre)

November 8: Minneapolis (Northrop Auditorium)

November 10: Detroit (Fox Theatre)

November 12-13: Chicago (Chicago Theatre)

November 15: Washington, D.C. (DAR Constitution Hall)

November 18: St. Louis (Fox Theatre)

November 26-27: Toronto (Massey Hall)

December 2-3: Boston (Orpheum Theatre)

December 5: Wallingford, Conn. (Oakdale Theatre)

December 9: Philadelphia (Tower Theatre)

December 12-13: New York (United Palace)
