    Nas Drops Controversial LP Title

    Tue, 20 May 2008 10:31:53

Now he can finally release it

Nas has changed the name of his latest album from N*gger to an untitled project in hopes of finally releasing the full-length on July 1 through Def Jam.

"It's important to me that this album gets to the fans," he told Billboard.com. "It's been a long time coming. I want my fans to know that creatively and lyrically, they can expect the same content and the same messages. It's that important. He added, "The streets have been waiting for this for a long time. The people will always know what the real title of this album is and what to call it."

Nas recently told MTV that he might have to change the record's title due to mounting pressure from Def Jam. The rapper's last album, Hip-Hop Is Dead, sold 757,000 copies in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan numbers.
