MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Northwest Airlines is planning to fly a full schedule today as technicians work through a computer glitch that's caused hundreds of flight delays.
A Northwest spokesman says the airline's information technology department is continuing to make progress on restoring the airline's computer system.
In the meantime, backup systems are being used.
While no flights were canceled today, about 80 Northwest flights had been delayed an average of 20 minutes by midmorning.
The problem began yesterday and was centered in a computer system that enables communication between the Worldspan global distribution system and some Northwest airport computer systems.
Northwest is encouraging customers to check in and obtain their boarding passes over the Internet and check their flight status online.
