Rumors Nsync with Lance - he’s gay

Its official. After years of rumors and speculation, former NSync lead vocalist Lance Bass has swung open the closet doors on his homosexuality.
In a People magazine cover story that hits newsstands tomorrow, the Mississippi-raised, Southern Baptist-bred Bass speaks for the first time about his struggle to stay closeted and his fears about sabotaging NSync’s popularity had he been outted during their heyday.
Bass, 27, also reveals that his mother discovered his sexual orientation through Internet gossip rather than from his own mouth, an unfortunate incident which spurred him to formally address the situation.
Fan reaction to the news was mixed. Some posters on EZBoard’s JJB Forum, a celebrity news discussion group, were stunned (“I’m dying of absolute shock.”). Others voiced support for Bass. But a majority of fans were amused that anyone was surprised by Bass’s “news.”
“Most of us have had many years to come to terms with this fact,” wrote one poster, “and I mean come on, obviously the guy is a big QUEEN!”
Bass recently announced plans to star in a TV sitcom with former NSync buddy Joey Fatone.Bass’ character in the proposed script is gay.
Gossip about his sexuality increased last month after sightings of Bass with “Amazing Race” winner and out of the closet hunk Reichen Lehmkuhl.
All this was old news to New England’s gay community, who witnessed the now-confirmed power couple out and about in Provincetown Fourth of July weekend. Blogger Andy Towle broke the story after chatting with Bass and Lehmkuhl while waiting in line for the men’s room at the Atlantic House, a popular gay dance club.
