NSYNC star Lance Bass has revealed that he’s gay.
After years of speculation, Bass - a member of the globally successful boyband NSYNC – has admitted to People Magazine that he is homosexual and is in a “very stable relationship” with partner Reichen Lehmkul a US reality TV personality and gay rights activist.
Although Lance, who says he’s known he was gay since he was a child, chose to keep his sexuality a secret during his whole pop career he insists: “I'm not ashamed - that's the one thing I want to say. I don't think it's wrong.”
The singer says he denied gay rumours to protect the other members of NSYNC who famously had a legion of female teenage fans, “I had four other guys' careers in my hand,” he said, because he felt revelations about his sexuality would “overpower” everything.
“I'm not devastated going through this,” he added. “I'm more liberated and happy than I've been my whole life. I'm just happy." Yay for Lance!
