The Return of Dr. Octagon
OCD
| Critic: B+
A welcome psychedlic break from the rap norm, gonzo alt-hop icon Kool Keith delivers Act II of his sex-fueled sci-fi rap circus, resurrecting his infamously filthy alter ego Dr. Octagon. Funkier than on the classic 1996 original, Keith is as cringingly odd as ever, evoking a dusted, urban Frank Zappa on ‘‘A Gorilla Driving a Pickup Truck.” ‘‘Trees” is a disjointed, clubby ride through Keith’s universe - a fantasticly perverted netherworld where Bootsy Collins sips absinthe and Dr. Octagon invades wombs in search of turtles.Download: ‘‘Eat It.”
