And 1 Streetball has mad hip-hops
Ubisoft's razzle-dazzle basketball game features beats from Kool G Rap, San Quinn; soundtrack to be included with purchase of game.
Though street-style basketball isn't weighed down with too many concrete rules, there is one unwritten rule that must be followed by blacktop ballers--no dunking to country-western music. Ubisoft is holding true to the code of the playground with the announcement of the And 1 Streetball soundtrack, which spans several regional variants of hip-hop.
The bicoastal soundtrack has something for all hip-hop fans, regardless of which side of the country you represent. Artists from the East Coast, West Coast, the Dirty South, and more are included, including New York's Kool G Rap and Oaktown's Turf Talk.
"What I do and what the streetballers do are the same thing," said Freeway, one of the contributors to the soundtrack. "We both need to be creative and original to get recognized."
Those who purchase the game will also get the game's soundtrack, which comes on a DVD with bonus footage compiled from the And 1 Mixtapes. Ubisoft has also put the soundtrack into one convenient, downloadable mix by DJ Green Lantern. Gamers can download the free mix now from Real.com.
And 1 Streetball is rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older and will retail for $39.99 on the Xbox and PlayStation 2 when it is released on June 6. A full list of tracks on the soundtrack is below.

"Mad Hip-Hops" that makes no sense at all.... nice try tho
Wow, and I thought hip-hop was bad enough, but now it's mad?.
Yo Elite - you obviously aint from ad streets, son... map hops, mad hip-hops, droppin rhymes like dimes.
dig?
nobody even say hip-hop nomore, its rap, and even still it would be "mad hip-hop songs/tracks"
Hmmm. Kool G Rap, Freeway, Devin, Bun B... not bad.. Still not really interested in this game though. Music doesn't sell the game to me and if I want to I'll just head to the court and play real Bball with real people. I never understood sport games.... Maybe because I'm not lazy. If I want to listen to Hip-Hop I think my continuously expanding collection is good enough. Most (not all) of today's commercial hip-hop (same goes for rock) totally suck anyway.
Thats cool I hope the game will get delayed that way they can add more stuff to it and max it out to the game it could be.
Most good rap doesn't exist like it used to. All the good rappers sigh...are dead
thats cool...havent heard of a few of those artists before tho
Rap is stupid and pointless but I wouldn't expect any real music in a street basketball game.
that sucks but i prefer V3 whoch probly the best "past-time" basketball
I thought maybe they were going to include Rappers in BAsket ball game
