Legendary hip hop producer Dallas Austin, who has worked with artists such as Michael Jackson, Madonna and more recently, Kelis, has found himself in a Dubai jail after importing drugs into the country.

Austin, who was on his way to attend Naomi Campbell’s birthday party at the exlusive Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai last month, was detained at the airport and is awaiting a hearing next month.

Dubai, one of the more tolerant Emirates of the United Arab Emirates, is still known for having a hard stance on drugs, often dishing out the death penalty, or at very least life in prison.

Austin faces a hearing next month.
