 Disturbed
| Comic book artist Todd McFarlane will direct the music video for the next single from Disturbed's platinum album, Ten Thousand Fists. McFarlane previously worked with the band on the cover artwork for the album. "It's always exciting to work on music videos and to pour yourself into them in a big way," says McFarlane. "We get to rock out artistically, and the creativity the band has thrown our way will make this fairly easy for us." Details have not yet been released on what the next single will be.
Staind will play a trio of shows for U.S. troops who are stationed at Army bases in Germany. The shows are scheduled for March 3 at the U.S. Army Garrison, Mannheim, March 16 at the U.S. Army Garrison, Franconia, and March 17 at the U.S. Army Garrison, Baumholder. The shows at Mannheim and Franconia are part of "Welcome Home" celebrations for troops returning from duty in the Persian Gulf Region. Once Staind returns to the States, the band will headline the Jaegermeister spring tour, which will begin in mid-April. They also will top the bill at the annual WXTB (98 Rock)/Tampa Livestock Festival in Zephyr Hills, FL on April 29.
An autograph-seeking fan is suing Busta Rhymes for assault after the fan says Rhymes attacked him when he asked for his signature. Melvin Smith filed the civil suit in Manhattan Supreme Court on Wednesday, according to Reuters. Smith says the rapper and his bodyguard, Troy Green, beat him with their "hands and fists for no rhyme or reason" when he asked for an autograph. The incident took place at a sandwich shop near New York's City Hall about six months ago. According to Reuters, Smith claims he has been unable to work at his job as handyman because of neck and back injuries he sustained in the incident. He is seeking unspecified damages against the bodyguard and the rapper.
30 Seconds To Mars have been forced to reschedule the first two dates on their headlining tour because bassist Matthew Wachter "cut his finger to the bone, requiring a visit to the hospital," says the band's Web site. "He will be just fine, but needs a little extra time to heal." The tour was set to begin on March 4 in Salt Lake City. Meanwhile, lead singer Jared Leto just finished shooting the movie Chapter 27, in which he plays Mark David Chapman, John Lennon's killer.
Capitol Records/EMI will unleash Arsenal Of Megadeth, a new two-disc DVD anthology, on March 21. In addition to 20 of the band’s music videos, the set contains previously unreleased material such as behind the scenes audition footage, a 1995 band appearance on MTV’s Most Wanted, a clip of Dave Mustaine’s guest appearance on The Drew Carey Show and concert footage from 2005’s Gigantour.

The two-CD retrospective The Essential Judas Priest will hit stores on April 4. The collection covers albums from 1976's Sad Wings Of Destiny through 2005's Angel Of Retribution, and will include classics like "Breaking the Law," "Hell Bent for Leather," "You've Got Another Thing Comin'" and "The Ripper," as well as new hits such as "Judas Rising" and "Revolution."
The 10th annual All Good Music Festival will take place from July 14 - 16 and will include three days of music and camping on the fields of Marvin's Mountaintop in Masontown, WV. This year's bill is topped by the Black Crowes, Ween and Les Claypool, along with The Disco Biscuits, Umphrey's McGee, Railroad Earth, Southern Culture On The Skids and many more.
Eagle Vision will release the DVD Queen: The Making Of A Night At The Opera on March 21. The DVD contains a cut by cut run through of all 12 tracks on Queen's 1975 album, plus interviews with guitarist Brian May, bassist John Deacon and producer Roy Thomas Baker, archival performance footage, interviews with Freddie Mercury, and comments from such rock luminaries as Aerosmith’s Joe Perry and Mott The Hoople’s Ian Hunter. The DVD also features brand new acoustic performances of “’39” and “Love Of My Life” by May, and a special drum and acoustic demonstration of “I’m In Love With My Car” by Roger Taylor.
