Popular 80's Artists Featured on Red, Hot + Blue DVD and CD Compilation

Annie Lennox, Jody Watley, Neneh Cherry, U2, Erasure and other artists who were big during the 1980's are featured on the DVD/CD combo set Red Hot + Blue-A Benefit For AIDS Research and Relief. The set features a full length DVD of music videos and commentary and a music CD. The royalties that Shout! Factory receives from the sale of the set will benefit AIDS research and relief.

The Red, Hot + Blue movement started was started in the early 90s' by John Carlin. John had been working as an art critic and teacher and witnessed how AIDS was destroying his community. John got established music artists to come on board to record the songs of Cole Porter. Several Red, Hot & Blue compilation CD's were released during the 90's.

The DVD features 19 music videos and the CD features 20 songs. It's really great to see (and hear) this modern artists singing classic Cole Porter songs from the 1930's, 40's and 50's.

The music CD features The Thompson Twins cover of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" and The Fine Young Cannibals cover of "Love For Sale."

Artists featured on the video portion include Neneh Cherry, Jody Watley, Erasure, Sinead O'Conner, The Jungle Brothers, The Neville Brothers, k.d. lang, Aztec Camera, Debby Harry, Iggy Pop, Lisa Stansfield, Tom Waits, Annie Lennox and U2 among others.

The Red Hot + Blue series was so hot in the 90's. It's great that songs and videos from the compilations have been released.
