Tops of the night
'Miss Teen USA 2006'
7-9 p.m. on NBC (Channel 5)
Performances by Ashley Parker Angel, JoJo and Lucas Grabeel ("High School Musical") highlight the teen pageant, live from Palm Springs, Calif.
Damien Fahey (MTV's "Total Request Live") and Shaun Robinson ("Access Hollywood") are this year's hosts.
Breanna Lynn Huellinghorst, a student at Fort Zumwalt West High School in O'Fallon, Mo., represents Missouri in the pageant. She was crowned Miss Missouri Teen USA last December in Kansas City.
Previous Miss Teen USA winners, NBC informs us, include Vanessa Minnillo (1998), Bridgette Wilson-Sampras (1990) and Kelly Hu (1985). The current Miss Teen USA, Allie LaForce, is a varsity athlete and self-proclaimed tomboy from Vermilion, Ohio. She'll crown her successor after contestants from 50 states and the District of Columbia compete in swimsuit, evening gown and interview categories.
