The Panic Channel

Panic Channel guitarist Dave Navarro has split with his wife, actress Carmen Electra. After just under three years of marriage (with a wedding documented by MTV of course), the celebrity couple are separating, but not filing for divorce currently. Navarro is keeping busy co-hosting Rock Star: Supernova on CBS and readying for the release of the Panic Channel's debut album, ONe, on August 15.

Charges against Eminem over an alleged fight at a Detroit strip club have been dropped. Motor City police have announced that the man who initially accused the rapper dropped the charges against him. The man, Miad J., had claimed that Em attacked him in the bathroom of a strip club last week.

John Mayer will release his next album, Continuum, on September 12. The lead single, "Waiting For The World To Change," is already at radio, with "Vultures," "Gravity" and a cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Bold As Love" also slated for the record. "This one is a reflection of where I am and where I think I'll be also," Mayer told Billboard. "This record is mood and soul music and blues music; these things don't go anywhere for me. So hopefully, there's a little bit of that mentality, a little bit of that essence that will staple the songs into whatever time I find myself in." As previously announced, Mayer will hit the road on a co-headlining tour with Sheryl Crow starting in August.

Nominees for the prestigeous U.K. Mercury Prize were announced today, with Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke receiving a nod for his new album The Eraser, only a week after its release. Also nominated are: Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan - Ballad of the Broken Seas, Editors - The Back Room, Guillemots - Through The Windowpane, Richard Hawley - Coles Corner, Hot Chip - The Warning, Muse - Black Holes And Revelations, Zoe Rahman - Melting Pot, Lou Rhodes - Beloved One, Scritti Politti - White Bread, Black Beer and Sway - This Is My Demo. The winner will be announced on September 5.

Rapper Lloyd Banks will release Rotten Apple on September 19. The G-Unit member has already released the first single, "Hands Up," but says he will keep recording new material right up until the last minute. "I don't stop recording until they tell me I can't — 'cause some of your best records come at crunch time," Banks told MTV.

Head Automatica is extending their Popaganda tour well into the fall, with new dates keeping the band on the road at least until October 21, when they will be in Washington, D.C. Rock Kills Kid and Men, Women & Children open the entire trek, which kicks off on October 16.

Much like Andre 3000 of Outkast, Jewel is working on her own animated children's series. Punk Rock Angel Girl, which is slated to debut on Nickelodeon in the fall, follows the adventures of a teen superhero who battles against robots controlled by corporate America. The singer/songwriter, who also voices the main character, tells VH1.com, "I really enjoy the medium. It's so much fun creating this whole world, but it's so hard to get everything I want in."

Ben Kweller has set a September 19 for his eponymous, third studio album. The singer-songwriter played every instrument on the record, produced by Gil Norton (Pixies, Foo Fighters). "These are very personal songs. I really feel like I'm getting good at expressing exactly what’s on my mind," Kweller told Billboard. "Recording is documentation of a time and a place so -- and I'm not one to diss on my other records -- what I released a year ago or five years ago only reflected what and where I was at those times. I'm really proud of what I've made this time around."

Ex-Cibo Mato singer Miho Hatori will release her her solo disc Ecdysis on October 24 via Rykodisc. Hatori and her band will tour behind the eclectic album this fall.
