Hatebreed Information

'Hatebreed' is a hardcore band from Connecticut, perhaps the best-known proponent of that genre. The band started in 1995, and quickly became one of the top bands in the genre due to their intense musical style and constant support and work for the hardcore scene. They quickly released a split with New York's Neglect, a highly acclaimed EP called "Under The Knife" in 1996, and the following year released what many fans consider the definitive 1990's hardcore album, "Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire" on Victory Records, then the home of some of the biggest bands in hardcore. A constant touring schedule pushed them beyond the boundaries of the hardcore scene, and tours with national metal bands such as Slayer and Slipknot brought them to the attention of many non-hardcore fans. These influences were apparent on the band's next two releases, 2002's Perseverance, and especially 2003's The Rise Of Brutality. Though the band has increased in popularity over the years, they still maintain tight connections to the hardcore community, evidenced by the lineup for the band's 10 year anniversary show (25 November and 26 in New Haven), which includes Neglect, One 4 One, Irate, and reunions by All Out War and Skarhead. Singer Jamey Jasta is the host of the MTV2 television program "Headbanger's Ball", and runs Stillborn Records, home of Subzero, Full Blown Chaos, and Jasta's own side project with Skarhead's Lord Ezec called Icepick.
