Amuse yourselves with these while I'm gone
2006-07-01
I'll be on vacation next week, so no new posts from me for awhile (boo-hoo). But, I've considered your predicament, and while I'm out, I've found some mildly and wildly entertaining bits for you to peruse.

Where am I going, you ask? To glorious Milwaukee, home of my family and the fabulous 10-day Summerfest music festival. Nickelback will be there, and they'll be here in Reno as well on Aug. 14, but this pretty much says it all about Nickelback, and why I don't need to see them. I do hope to catch Soul Asylum, Kings of Leon and Mike Doughty.

Unrelated, but the absolute funniest thing I've seen online in awhile are these Norwegian lads performing "Total Eclipse of the Heart" on kitchen appliances. If you think Spinal Tap is funny....

After you've picked yourself off the floor from the previous clip, while away an unreasonable amount of time with these forgotten videos from the 1980s. Not only do you get landfill fodder like Don Johnson's "Heartbeat," you can also find rarely seen goodies like The Cult's "Rain" and The Clash's "London Calling." Note that any band with "the" in their name falls under "T." Be sure to check out all that embodies 1980s cheez: Autograph's "Turn up the Radio."
