Their last album came out five years ago, but you still can’t get over Fugazi. I understand, but try not to think about it, because Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty has been busy producing Burn to Shine , a series of DVDs featuring a bunch of your other favorite bands playing one song each in a house scheduled for demolition at the end of the day.

Seattle band The Blood Brothers are working on the follow-up to 2004's Crimes album, but will release an EP to get fans through in the interim. The post-hardcore quintet entered the studio last month with Crimes producer John Goodmanson ( Sleater-Kinney ) and Guy Picciotto ( Rites Of Spring , Fugazi ). The busy band's fifth album this decade is expected to be released in the fall.

Unlike the 80's, we're going to take on the 90's year by year (and we may yet go back and revisit the '80s that way). We start, obviously, with 1990, which had a real dearth of good punk albums. 1990 Fugazi - 13 Songs This album was the mold off of which every alternative record after it was shaped.. On first listen you might tilt your head and say "what the fuck is this?"

Portland punks the Thermals are set to release their third full-length, The Body, The Blood, The Machine August 22 on Sub Pop. This album, the follow-up to 2004’s excellent Fuckin’ A , finds Hutch Harris and Kathy Foster down a drummer (Jordan Hudson left the group late last year) and recording as a duo with producer Brendan Canty of Fugazi.

The Evens, the side project of Fugazi front man Ian MacKaye, will play the Nerve Centre in Derry on Wednesday March 29. The Evens are a duo from Washington DC who play stripped down, almost folk-like, variations on the rock song.

New York's own the Walkmen have announced that May 23 will be the release date for their third full-length, A Hundred Miles Off . The band produced and recorded the album at their (now former) Harlem Studio (their landlord, Columbia, is kicking them out) and at Inner Ear Studios outside DC. Don Zientara (Fugazi, the Dismemberment Plan) assisted in engineering the recording.
