    Foxy Brown's Still in Prison

Despite a request for medical treatment

A New York judge has turned down Foxy Brown's request to receive special medical treatment at a Los Angeles clinic. (She has a hearing aid that needs to be repaired and reprogrammed.) Brown has been serving a yearlong jail sentence since last September for violating her probation and assaulting two Manhattan-based nail salon workers in August of 2004.

In her plea for the early release, Brown wrote, "I am terrified of not hearing a fire alarm go off, or being locked in a cell and someone not being kind enough to let me out, since not everyone understands the severity of my condition."

State prosecutors called Brown's four-page letter a "desperate and frivolous petition," however, a claim upheld by State Supreme Court Justice Melissa Jackson, who said Brown is allowed treatment; she just can't escape all the way to Cali for it.
