Fort Minor's New Video

Mike Shinoda explains the "Where'd You Go" clip

On Fort Minor's current hit, "Where'd You Go," Mike Shinoda raps about lifeon the road from his wife's perspective ("Where'd you go?/I miss you so/Seems like it's been forever that you've been gone"). "I wrote the song for my wife, but I realized there's a lot of ways that the theme can be interpreted," says Shinoda about the song's video, which deals with the idea of loss by intercutting interviews with the parents of a soldier in Iraq, the wife of a minor-league baseball player and the son of separated parents. Director Philip Andelman turned to his father, a former 60 Minutes staffer, to help find people with appropriate stories. "All the characters in the video are real people, and the homes are their real homes," says Shinoda. "It just adds an element of authenticity."
