“Where’d You Go” Fort Minor

Fort Minor may sound familiar to a lot of rock fans because the man, and the voice behind it, is Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. When Shinoda was writing “Where’d You Go,” he needed a female voice and had just heard a demo done by a young singer named Holly Brook. He was blown away by what he heard, so much so that Linkin Park immediately signed her to their own label.

As for the song, it’s about being on the road, but with a twist according to Shinoda:

“I wrote it for my wife, Anna … A lot of people do songs about being on the road, and I wanted to do this song about the opposite perspective: the people who are at home … your family, your friends, your loved ones who are at home.”

Holly Brook’s CD debut, “Like Blood Like Honey,” was released on June 6, and meanwhile she and Shinoda have a hit that is being played throughout Top 40 radio.

“Where’d You Go” is currently holding strong at #2 on the Billboard Charts. We’ll have to wait and see what the future holds for Fort Minor.
